Donna Montrezza teaches the fundamentals of sculpting and drawing in Santa Ana, California. Classes and workshops are limited to six students.

Sculpting the Figure: The Blocking Method
Thursdays, 7 to 10 PM
For beginning, intermediate and advanced students.

Students learn the blocking method in building a figure in clay. The goal in this class is a harmonious, dynamic figure, made possible through learning and practicing the fundamentals: correct anatomy, consistent proportions and the accurate observation of planes and angles. Emphasis is placed on the study and integration of proportion and measurement, figure composition, planes and gesture, and sound working methods and techniques.

Students work in water-based or oil-based clay, i.e., plasteline. A list of sculpting materials and recommended books is available from Donna. You may purchase water-based clay, armatures and armature wire from Donna.

Drawing the Figure: The Blocking Method
Thursdays, 7 to 10 PM
For beginning, intermediate and advanced students.

Students study proportion, measurement and the blocking method, focusing on light values, form, perspective, composition and the development of shading techniques. This class is also a must for the serious sculptor.

Sculpting and Drawing Workshop
Saturdays, 2 to 5 PM

Students work from figure models four Saturdays a month. Draw, paint or sculpt.
